NYC Car-Service Price Index 2026
Car-service pricing in New York is quoted a dozen different ways — a flat headline here, an hourly card there, tolls and the congestion fee bolted on or buried. This index puts the numbers side by side, from published operator rate cards, the MTA and Port Authority toll schedules, and our own 2026 ride logs. Airport flat rates (Manhattan reference, one way)
"From" figures are the lowest published or observed one-way fare, before tolls, gratuity, and the $9 congestion fee unless the operator bundles them. Livery headlines (Carmel, Dial 7) are the lowest on the board but exclude the add-ons; black-car and global operators quote closer to the all-in.

Hourly rates by vehicle class
Published rate cards remain rare in this market; a card is itself a signal of operator confidence. Where an operator publishes (e.g. Detailed Drivers), we show the card figure; otherwise a working band from our booking logs.

The add-ons that move the all-in
The single biggest reason a $100 flat becomes a $135 receipt is the stack below. An operator that itemises these is being honest; one that folds them into an undifferentiated "service fee" is not.

Method and sources
Figures were checked against each operator's current public rate card, the MTA and Port Authority 2026 toll schedules, and the MTA Congestion Relief Zone tariff, plus Urban Travel Review ride logs paid at the operator's published rate. Published fares are labelled; estimated bands are labelled as bands. Star averages are not used. Prices change — this index is dated and re-verified quarterly.
