When we get a fact wrong, we fix it on the page and record it here,
dated. When a piece cannot be salvaged by an edit — because its premise
does not survive verification — we withdraw it rather than quietly
leaving it up, and we log the withdrawal too. This is the full record.

Mexico City — five tasting menus defining 2026
Withdrawn before publication. Verification found three of the five featured restaurants did not exist or were misattributed, and the two real rooms were wrong on course counts, prices, and opening years. A list feature cannot survive that, so we withdrew it rather than rebuild it under the same headline. Mexico City dining coverage will return reported from the ground.

The London pub that won a Michelin star
Withdrawn before publication. The named pub and its chef could not be verified against the Michelin Guide or any other source — no Michelin-starred pub of that name exists at the stated address. The anchoring claim was also wrong on the record (the Hand & Flowers, the first Michelin-starred British pub, is in Marlow, not London, and earned its star in 2006). The premise was unsalvageable.

Helsinki Biennale 2026 — field report
Withdrawn before publication. A pre-launch verification pass found the piece was built on an event that does not occur: the Helsinki Biennial runs every two years on Vallisaari island (2021, 2023, 2025, next 2027) — there is no 2026 edition. The theme, curators, venue extension, and named artists in the draft did not match any real edition. Rather than correct a fabricated premise, we pulled it.
